What is Veganism?

What We Believe in

image6

Collaboration

We seek partnerships and build coalitions with individuals, businesses,

and nonprofit organizations that share a common purpose. V.I.D.A 's team is comprised of a diverse group of volunteers – representing many of our community partners – and we each agree to bring our energy, skills, and resources to this project.

Creativity

We believe that artists and innovators have an important role to play in any movement for social change. As we make use of successful models from the past, we also experiment with new ideas and strategies in a continuous process of learning and doing.

Non-Violence

We oppose the killing, injuring and exploitation of living beings. Through

our actions as individuals and as a collective, we strive to produce the least harm and achieve the greatest good for our communities, other animals, and the environment.

Our Values

image9

Equity

We affirm that veganism is for everyone, and we do the work of making our movement accessible, welcoming, and responsive to communities that have been marginalized. We practice veganism and advocate for animal rights in alliance with other social justice movements.

Empowerment

We believe that when people put their own values into action, they can

commit to positive and long-lasting change. Effective advocates provide the education, support, and resources that enable these powerful choices.
